Competitive Intelligence (CI)

The ongoing practice of monitoring competitors to inform positioning, messaging, and sales strategy.

Competitive intelligence is the systematic collection and analysis of information about competitors — their products, pricing, messaging, positioning, and market moves. For PMMs, CI informs battlecard content, positioning differentiation, and win/loss analysis. Sources include: competitor websites, G2/Capterra reviews, job postings, press releases, LinkedIn activity, customer interviews, and sales call recordings. CI should be an ongoing process, not a one-time audit.
